Austin Carter is the winner of the hand-shaped Eggnog Surfboard created by Kyle Shellhammer as a fundraiser for our Coos Bay Surfrider Scholarship Fund. A few months ago, Austin stopped by 7 Devils, and bought a raffle ticket.
"I like donating, when I can – it's always a good feeling, and I like to help out."
"I love board sports and 2-wheel sports ... dirt-biking, skateboarding, snowboarding ... and of course surfing." Austin is excited about having an Eggnog board, and can't wait to take it out on the water.
Austin lives part-time between Redding, CA and Gold Beach, OR (where he can surf!). He heard about Surfrider from one of the servers at 7 Devils. Austin came to Coos Bay with his fiancée, Carlie Dunlap. Seeing the beautiful Eggnog board, Carlie said, "Maybe I should learn surfing!"
To top it off, Austin picked up his board on his birthday. His words of advice are, "Have as much fun as you can. When life gives you stuff – like this board – use it!"
