How to become a Chapter Leader and local Coastal Defender!

Written by Coos Bay Chair | Sep 7, 2016 10:36:02 PM

The Coos Bay Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is a incredible group of people working hard to protect their local estuaries, waterways and beaches!  Not only is the Chapter protecting special places like Bastendorff or monitoring local water quality through their Blue Water Task Force program, but they've put a heavy emphasis on providing opportunities for the next generation of coastal defenders through their scholarship program and supporting the Bandon High School Surfrider Youth Leadership Club.

We are a passionate (and fun loving) group of people who care about our ocean, rivers, dunes, forests, waves and beaches. Sound like you? We are looking for more like-minded locals to help us protect these special places and take on a leadership role within the chapter. Could be just leading a beach cleanup or maybe you've got the interest and desire to take on a bigger role - bring what you've got!  We provide necessary training, stoke and tools of the trade.

Come join us at the Sharkbites Rock Hall on Wednesday, September 14th @ 6:30pm for a presentation from Surfrider Oregon Field Coordinator, Ryan Cruse, on who we are, what we do and how you can become a leader in protecting your local coastline! He'll be covering why Surfrider is a unique organization that provides a great platform for developing leadership skills and creating positive change as well as talking about chapter leadership positions that will be available in 2017.
