Coos Bay Beach Cleanups May 17

By

What's that? Another beach clean up? Didn't we just do that? We did! But regular clean ups at our beloved, local beaches are essential to keeping up with all the use they get, especially given the recent uptick in marine debris washing ashore. This time, we'll be partnering with Southwestern Community College at beaches on Cape Arago in conjunction with their Geology Lecture series on May 17 Noon-4pm.

Come join  Southwestern Oregon Community College, in association with Associated Student Government, Geology Club, The Surfrider Foundation, Washed Ashore, Seven Devils Brewing, and more. We will be cleaning the beaches on and around Cape Arago on May 17 2014. This event is to raise awareness about Plastics in the Ocean, and coincides with the Geology lecture series talk taking place that evening. The talk is on Plastics In the Global Ocean. Assembly for the event will be at SWOCC parking lot 1 near the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute in Coos Bay. Transportation will be provided to current students, and carpooling is encouraged. We will also have check in stations around Cape Arago and Bastendorff. More details on where the check-in stations will be added to this post soon.
