Samantha Huffman was awarded one of the Coos Bay Surfrider Scholarships for 2020.
Sammie Huffman is a graduate of Coquille High School class of 2020. She plans to use this scholarship to attend Southwestern Oregon Community College and Oregon State University dual enrolled in the fall. She is studying fisheries and wildlife sciences, pursuing a career as a Fisheries Biologist. This summer Sammie served as a Hutton Scholarship Intern through the American Fisheries Society at the Bureau of Land Management Coos Bay, where she was exposed to a variety of Fisheries professions and projects in our area. She hopes to use this experience in her future career field.
