Payton Davidson was awarded one of the Coos Bay Surfrider Scholarships for 2019.
Payton writes: This year I am attending George Fox University with plans to obtain a degree in civil engineering. I would then like to get a masters in forest engineering. I would love to return to my home town of Coos Bay to pursue my career. I have always loved the outdoors, and the Pacific Northwest was and is a beautiful and wonderful atmosphere to grown up in and also to continue my future. I want to give back to the environment and community that has given so much to me. This year I will also compete on the varsity Track and Field team as a pole vaulter. Although I received scholarships from George Fox, it is still not enough to pay for all of my tuition. The Coos Bay Surfrider Scholarship helps so that I am able to pay my tuition and achieve my goals. I am very thankful for the help that the Surfrider Foundation has given me.
