Spring Into A Surfrider Summer is just around the corner - Saturday March 19.

The Coos Bay Chapter of Surfrider is making a difference in our area with your help! We teamed with teacher Trent Hatfeld and Bandon High School to launch the Surfrider Youth Leadership Program (Quad Club). Since then, students have been doing regular water quality testing, and have gotten involved at the local and state levels with their Loam Not Foam campaign. Students traveled to Salem in May 2015 to testify for a bill to eliimatate styrofoam school lunch trays. In mid-May, four members of the Quad Club, along with eight other local youth, and Trent Hatfield went to Bastendorff Beach for a surf and stewardship day, supported by our Coos Bay chapter and Warm Current (an Oregon-based non-profit, who’s mission is to create healthy, active lifestyles for youth through surfing.)
