Washed Ashore Presents: The Fate of Foam at Lighthouse Beach

Join us at the beautiful South Slough Interpretive Center Auditorium for this month's chapter meeting from 5:30pm-7:30pm on February 6th. This month's meeting will feature a special presentation from Community Outreach Director Mary Johnson from Washed Ashore, presentation to begin at 6pm.

We're very excited to be partnering with Friends of South Slough for this month's special presentation from Washed Ashore at our monthly chapter meeting for Surfrider Coos Bay! Many of our volunteers in the community have been putting in serious hours on the cleanup of Lighthouse Beach, and thankfully, many of your stellar efforts are being diverted from the landfill through Washed Ashore's super creative sculptures and art workshops. They were able to haul off a 20ft Uhaul trailer full of foam debris from volunteer cleanup efforts to help build these creative pieces! Come learn all about Washed Ashore and the 'fate of the foam" at this presentation.

The Coos Bay Chapter meeting will begin promptly at 5:30pm to cover upcoming volunteer opportunities, chapter events and good of the order. The Washed Ashore presentation will begin at 6pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Directions to the South Slough Interpretive Center can be found here
