Stand UP! For the Bay is a community paddle event, and celebration of our local estuary is coming up this month, Saturday, September 27th! A paddle route will be designed for the day's conditions. Participants will launch from the northern public dock, and from the Eastside boat launch. After the paddle route is complete, a luau and information fair will be held on the boardwalk. Food will be served by local vendors, and alcohol will be provided by 7 Devil's Brewing Co...non-alcoholic beverages also available for the kiddos. A paddle board jousting event will follow the community paddle as well as live music!

As a founding member of the Newport, OR Chapter, Charlie has greatly advanced Surfrider's mission through ocean conservation as the Oregon Policy Manager. He’s led a critical role in ocean protection through strategic engagement of our Oregon chapter network in policy initiatives, grassroots campaigns, and community-based projects. With a BS in Marine Biology and as a member of the Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council, Charlie’s ties to the ocean reach far and wide.
